PART L BUILDING REGULATIONS
NET ZERO BY 2025
The government's highly ambitions target of net zero emissions by 2050 is about to change the face of sustainable energy within the newbuild sector and see fossil fuels banned from all new homes.
Part L of the building regulations covers ‘conservation of fuel’ and It sets the standard for current and future energy performance and carbon emissions within newbuild homes.
Following from the changes to the regulations enforces on June 15 2022 (with a second update to deliver the Future Homes Standard by 2025) it now requires new homes to produce 31% less carbon emissions.
Although there is a number of ways to these targets can me bet, current the mist cost effective and simplest metho is to incorporate a solar pv system on the roof.
It is anticipated that we will see a transition of most new homes in England and Wales having solar panels fitted during the build process. This is already the case in Scotland.
